Your child attends the sessions. Homework gets completed. The tutor may even tell you that things appear to be improving.

If the class is learning fractions, the tutor helps with fractions. If the test is on algebra, the tutor explains algebra.
That support can be useful.
But what happens when the child’s difficulty began much earlier?
A child struggling with fractions may still be uncertain about multiplication.
A child struggling with algebra may not fully understand negative numbers.
A child making repeated careless mistakes may be rushing because the work has stopped making sense.
The tutor may be explaining tonight’s assignment perfectly while the missing foundation remains untouched.
More help cannot solve the wrong problem
When progress is not happening, the answer is not always more tutoring.
